Who I Am

I always love learning about the person behind the blog so I wanted to write a little snippet about myself.  My name is Gretchen and I am currently a senior finishing up at a small university outside of Columbus, OH.  I am going to graduate with three degrees, a B.A. in East Asian Studies, Chinese, and International Diplomacy.  I absolutely love my majors, but I would love to go back to school again and get a degree in fashion merchandizing as well.

My interests are pretty diverse and a lot of times don't really relate to each other at all. Fun, yet difficult to get really good at any one thing (another reason I went to a liberal arts university)!  Two interests I have had since a young age, though, are theatre and piano.  I have been doing both since I was about 7 and cannot imagine a life without them.  I keep getting distracted at university, but whenever I go back it just feels like home.

Crafting came in much later with joining my sorority Kappa Delta (<3).  When I got my first little I was immersed into the world of paint, glitter, and picture frames (sooo many picture frames).  I tie-dyed pillow cases and ironed on appliques.  It was so much fun that when I got a second little I loved doing the whole process all over again.

Enter Pinterest.

This basically sealed my desire to be crafty.  It also opened up my interest in fashion to be more than just shopping.  Now I am learning how to make my own skirts, dresses, and T-shirts.  I learned about up-cycling and now I'm ready to try my hand at operating in the online community and bringing ideas I find here to life.
